Never Lost

The unharmonious, perfect harmony of all life's many pendulums swing and sway and twist us up. They lead us from the stillness to a life uncertainty. And as we swing we'll muster a smile to combat the terror that reigns as we clutch to the only solid parts of this seemingly sinking ship....

But, tell me again, weren't we just drowning before this all began? Back when the sky was still calm and the sun shined so bright, before we exhausted our supply of good food…  In fact, I'm almost positive that I was gasping for air, suffocating from the all too comfortable luxuries- of knowing where I would sleep this night and next, of still knowing I have nourishment to sustain and if need be, forget- suffocating from security, from plastic- cards, lips and tits and souls and body bags zipping up these screaming eyes…. Still suffocating from the safe routine I may come all too familiar with.

So peaks and troughs and white caps made of wind and water won't you slam me to my knees and spit on me? Please humble me as this pendulum swings higher, higher- picks up speed on its way to a new home, suspend me airborne in this new land, points unknown and quite alone. So, here again, I'll drive these roots down shallow still; for in no time I'm sure I'll be at it again- forever roaming; never lost, but far from found, pretending these pendulums might one day slow down. But until that day I'll still ride these waves of uncertainty, and do my damnedest not to drown…

Well here I'll bob on shifting waters, smile cresting though uncertainty. In these morphing tides you may find me drifting gasping for air. Sip the shallowest samples of life, aware that my smile line still remains but two wrinkles proudly tattooed on this never aging nor degrading face of years on weathered hide and crippled emotions. These pendulums will never rest and why should they? If not for straight paths what would this life be? But peaks and troughs and swing and sway, but yin and yang this unique way vs that unique way. Still never could complete lines that read straight and through just like this, so cut this string, send me one more time over. Happy to fly, to affect, to explore.
